CABA Encourages Holiday Giving in 1st Annual Charity Drive

The Colorado Aviation Business Association (CABA) is proud to announce the first annual Holiday Charity Drive to benefit the State of Colorado’s Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). The association is collecting toys and nonperishable foods to aid veteran families throughout the state. Collection efforts began mid‐October with donation boxes placed in various airport and business locations statewide as notated below. Although collections will end on Nov 30th, food and toys donations will continue at the first annual CABA Holiday party on December 2nd, 2011. Limited registration is open to all members of the Colorado aviation industry and attendees are asked to bring $20 worth of charitable items in lieu of purchasing a ticket.

As part of the effort CABA has also teamed up with the Metropolitan State College of Denver’s (MSCD) Aviation Department’s Flight Team. On Dec 4th, 2011 students of the MSCD program will fly the donations to three locations across the state. These students have donated their time and money for aircraft rentals. Ensuring timely delivery before the holiday season, the pilots will fly the food and toy donations to Montrose located on the western slope of the state. Other locations include Trinidad in southern Colorado and finally Burlington on the eastern plains. Members of the Colorado’s Veterans of Foreign Wars will greet the 13 aircraft at each location and help distribute the food and toys to those in need in the local area.
